VILLA AMARYLLISholidays in tolo nafplio, for those private moments

ΒΙΛΑ ΑΜΑΡΥΛΛΙΣ ΔΡΑΣΤΗΡΙΟΤΗΤΕΣ

There are many things to do in Tolo, Nafplio and the surrounding areas, we have tried to give an idea to prospective visitors to the area with this guide but it is by no means complete and just meant as an idea. If there is some activity that you would like to partake in during your time at Amaryllis Villa Tolo we will be pleased to enquire on your behalf if it is available.

Tolo beach, being a sheltered bay, is great for swimming and sunbathing, even for younger visitors as the sea is warm, clean and shallow and the beach has fine sand ideal for sandcastles! Water sports  such as waterskiing, windsurfing, canoeing, pelados, sailing, ringo & banana rides and scuba diving are available in Tolo with or without tuition and small motor boat rental a great idea for exploring the local islands and beaches in and around the bay.

There are many museums in the area, in Nafplion there is a large, recently renovated archaeological museum, a military museum, folklore museum, worry bead museum and ouzo museum (where visitors are also able to enjoy a tasting of the products and have a guided tour). Most of the archaeological sites have museums on site and also the Museum of Natural History in Ligourio & Water Museum at Dimitsana are well worth visiting.

History enthusiasts never tire of visiting the Peloponnese, world famous archaeological sites such as Mycenae, the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros, Ancient Tiryntha & Nemea can be found within half an hour's drive from Tolo or Nafplion, smaller sites such as Kazarma, the ancient pyramid at Elliniko, Iraio, Midea, Lerna and may others are also found very close by. Ancient Olympia, Byzantine Mystra, Monemvasia, Sparta, Kalavrita, the temple of Apollo at Bassae, Ancient Korinthos (Corinth), Acrocorinth & the Corinth canal are all found within a day trip or less from our villa.

As the Peloponnese has played a remarkable part in Greek (and world) history there are many monuments dotted all aroud the area waiting to be discovered.

Walking or rambling is another activity favoured by many visitors. It it possible to take part in guided walks over historic paths which are particularly popular out of season, in the Spring and autumn Greece is a botanist's paradise with the mountains covered in wild flowers and plants and in the winter many mountain areas within less than an hours trip from Tolo/Nafplio are snow capped and mountain refuges become ski resorts. The unspoilt beauty of the Peloponnese is evident all through the year and beaches, coves and harbours wait to be explored during the summer.

Visit other interesting places such as the windmill in Epidavros where visitors can take part in flour making and traditional bread and cookie making, take a couple of hours out to learn about pottery making, visit one of the wineries of Nemea for wine tasting, take a day cruise to the islands of Hydra and Spetses... or just laze on the beach for the ultimate relaxing holiday.

The choices for things to do in the Argolida & Peloponnese are endless, there is something for everyone for sure!
